The Top Three Ways to Design a Site

Have you ever heard that saying “There’s more than one way to skin a cat?” Well, that saying has nothing to do with what I am about to tell you. There are only 3 basic ways to build your website: build it yourself, use a free template, or have someone else do it.

Building A Website:

There are a lot of really good website designing tools and programs out there. It’s probably what most people with a tight wallet seem to want to opt for. But this can become quite time consuming. You have to learn the program. Then you have to design the website. This is not to scare you off, but most people designing their first website typically don’t know how to build one, which leads me into the second option.

Using a Template:

The easiest and cheapest way to get a website up and going is by using a template. You can tweak them, sure, but they have what’s called “footprints” that Google and all of the main search engines will see, and dock points in the search engine ranking. Not fun. Although, if you’re looking to build a website, and not looking to pull in a huge profit, this might be what you want to go with. But if you’re looking to pull in some revenue, and you don’t want to build it yourself, you’re going to have to get someone else to do it.

Have Someone Else Build It:

This is possibly the most professional way to do it: pay a freelancer. These guys do this for a living. Most of the major websites that you see on the internet are designed by freelancers, or teams of people paid to build websites. A couple freelancing websites are GetAFreelancer.com and Elance.com. Outsourcing your website design might be the key to building the site or blog that you’re looking for. Most freelancers work with you in what you’re vision for the website is, and they’ll tweak it to your specifications.
